My definition of training is: “making your MIND comfortable with the fact that your BODY is going to be a little uncomfortable”. People who don’t like to exercise usually just don’t like to be uncomfortable, but getting out of our comfort zones – mentally or physically – is where positive change happens. Being a Holder of a Bachelors Degree in Sport Science from Kenyatta University, My specialty is helping people to get out of their comfort zones through a one on one fitness approach termed Personal training.
Over the past decade I have worked with high achievers from all walks of life Alongside complex musculoskeletal rehab cases, and general population fitness.
This experience has enabled me to gradually devise a unique approach to health and fitness built around five pillars of wellness:
• Muscular Strength
• Work Capacity (aerobic fitness)
• Mobility and Motor Control
• Body Composition and toning
• Emotional Wellbeing
A health and fitness regime needs to consider and address each of these five pillars, with the goal of optimising health, fitness, longevity and fulfilment.
Programs for my clients are built from a thorough assessment and evaluation of current movement ability, lifestyle, body composition, sleep quality and nutritional habits. This, combined with an understanding of specific wants, needs and goals allows for a bespoke and holistic approach to moving better, thinking better and feeling better. This is underpinned with a sustainable nutritional plan that both supports the goals but also fits into a long term lifestyle.
